Defining Holidays in UnityIS Web
Overview
The Holiday feature in UnityIS is used to restrict access to your facility on days when it is officially closed, such as public or company-specific holidays. This ensures that users do not gain access during these periods unless specifically allowed.
This guide explains how to define holidays in UnityIS to manage access effectively.
Important Note
If certain users need access during holidays, make sure the corresponding Holiday Type box (H box) is checked when creating or editing the Time Schedule. This ensures access is still granted to those users or that scheduled door behavior continues during holidays.
Steps to Define a Holiday
Access the Holidays Module
From the main menu, go to Access Control → Holidays.
Select the Controller Group (if applicable)
If controller groups are being utilized, then select the appropriate controller group before proceeding.
Create a New Holiday
Click + New Holiday to open the holiday creation window.
Enter Holiday Details
Description: Enter a clear name for the holiday (e.g., New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).
Start Date and Stop Date: Choose the date range for the holiday.
Holiday Type (H box): Check one or more H boxes to categorize the holiday. These boxes are used when linking the holiday to Time Schedules:
If the H box is selected in a Time Schedule, access will be allowed or doors will unlock as scheduled.
If the H box is not selected, access will be denied or doors will remain locked during the holiday period.
Save the Holiday
Click Save to finalize and apply the holiday settings.
By defining holidays properly, you can ensure your facility remains secure during non-operational days while still allowing access to authorized personnel when needed.
