Card Formats

Adding Card Formats

After adding a controller, you must configure the relevant card formats used at the facility.

A Card Format defines the values that allow a card reader to recognize certain bit structures and facility codes.

  • Each controller supports up to 8 card formats.

  • If no valid format is defined, cards will be denied with the message: “Access Denied: Invalid.”

Steps to Add a Card Format

  1. From the main menu, go to Configuration > Hardware Manager.

  2. Click on the Driver to expand the list of controllers.

  3. Select a Controller, then click on the Card Formats button in the properties pane.

  4. In the Card Formats window:

    • Select an available format slot by clicking Formats.

    • Choose one of the following options:

      • Library: Import a predefined card format.

      • Manual: Define a custom format by entering bit structure values.

      • Copy: Duplicate a card format from another controller where cards are already functional.

  5. Click Save to apply the card format.

  • A maximum of 8 card formats can be added per controller.

  • To delete a card format, select it by clicking Formats, then click Delete at the bottom of the window.
