AI Assistant

Overview

The AI Assistant provides a fast, intuitive way to interact with the software using natural language and command shortcuts. Instead of navigating through multiple menus, operators can type commands directly into the Assistant to perform actions, retrieve information, and receive intelligent summaries of system activity.

The Assistant is available from the magic wand icon located in the navigation bar.


Opening the Assistant

  1. Click the Assistant (magic wand) icon.

  2. Begin typing a command or select one from the suggestion list.

  3. Depending on the command, either:

    • Press Enter to execute the command, or

    • Select the requested door, person, relay, or reader before pressing Enter.


Control Commands

These commands perform actions on devices or personnel.

PERSON-LOOKUPSearches for a person and opens their Personnel record.
RELAY-ONTurns a relay on.
RELAY-OFFTurns a relay off.
RELAY-PULSEPulses a relay for the configured duration.
READER-MODE-DISABLEDDisables a reader.
READER-MODE-LOCKEDPlaces a reader in Locked mode.
READER-MODE-UNLOCKEDPlaces a reader in Unlocked mode.
READER-MODE-CARDSets the reader to Card Only mode.
READER-MODE-CARD-AND-PINSets the reader to Card and PIN mode.
READER-MODE-CARD-OR-PINSets the reader to Card or PIN mode.

Assistant Analysis Commands

These commands analyze live data and return an easy-to-read summary.

Show Security Concerns

Analyzes the system and highlights items that require operator attention, such as:

  • Offline controllers

  • Offline cameras

  • Access denied activity

  • Forced door alarms

  • Other critical system conditions

The Assistant also provides a recommended course of action.


Give Me a Security Summary

Displays a high-level overview of the system, including:

  • Controllers online

  • Readers online

  • Visitor activity

  • Access granted events

  • Access denied events

  • Overall system health

This command is intended to provide operators and supervisors with a quick status of the entire security system.


Show Offline Devices

Displays devices that are currently offline and may require investigation.

Examples include:

  • Controllers

  • Cameras

  • Other monitored hardware


Show Controllers Offline

Lists monitored controllers that are currently offline.

Controllers configured not to be polled are automatically excluded.


Show Access Denied Events Today

Summarizes today's denied access activity, including:

  • Total denied events

  • Individuals with repeated denied access attempts

  • Common denial activity

The Assistant recommends when additional investigation may be appropriate.


Show Alarms Today

Provides a summary of today's alarm activity.

Examples include:

  • Door Forced Open

  • Door Held Open

  • Intrusion alarms

  • Other alarm events

The Assistant prioritizes the most significant alarm conditions.


Show Visitors Today

Displays visitor activity detected today, including:

  • Number of visitor transactions

  • Most active visitors

  • Visitor access summaries


Show Doors Currently Unlocked

Lists doors that are currently unlocked.

This command allows operators to quickly identify doors that may require attention before securing the facility.


Tell Me About Person

Displays a summary of a selected person, including personnel information and recent activity.


Why Was Person Denied Access

Analyzes a denied access event and explains the most likely reason, such as:

  • Expired credential

  • Disabled card

  • Invalid access level

  • Outside of authorized schedule

  • Anti-passback violation

  • Other access control conditions


Intelligent Suggestions

The Assistant automatically changes its suggestions based on the selected command.

Examples:

  • Selecting DOOR-UNLOCK displays a list of available doors.

  • Selecting PERSON-LOOKUP displays personnel names.

  • Selecting RELAY-ON displays available relays.

  • Selecting a reader mode command displays available readers.

This allows operators to complete commands quickly without memorizing device names.
