Aperio IP Hub Integration with Mercury Controllers

This article will guide you to configuring the UnityIS software to connect to Aperio Hubs and Locks with Mercury Controllers

Prerequisites:

  • UnityIS Security Management Software version 11.5.x or higher
  • Aperio AH-30 RS-485 Hub only for downstream communication to Mercury controller. Does not support the AH-20 or AH-40 hubs.
  • Aperio Hub MUST be from Mercury. Does not work with other hubs from different vendor
  • Mercury EP/LP/MP intelligent controllers
  • Supports Assa Abloy IN100, K100 and KS100 Wireless Locks with Aperio Technology
  • Only 8 locks can be connected per hub to a single Mercury EP/LP controller
  • Supported Reader Modes:
    • Card / PIN
    • Card only PIN
    • Card
    • Facility code only
    • Remote Lockdown (from Alarm Monitoring)

Procedures:

  1. Program the Aperio Hub according to the installation manual
  2. Connect the Aperio Hub to the Mercury Controller via the RS-485 bus per wiring instructions. A to Clock and B to Data.
  3. Set the hub dipswitch address to 1
  4. Program the IN100 locks to communicate the Aperio Hub
  5. In the UnityIS software, go to Hardware Manager
  6. Then add the Mercury Access Control driver and make sure it's running
  7. Below the driver, add the correct Mercury controller model, EPC1 Aperio (if using LP1501 in legacy mode, ie, dipswitch 4 is ON) or LP1501 that will manage the Aperio Hub. For LP1501, add this controller as is. Make sure the LP1501 or any Mercury controller is dedicated for the Aperio and not used in conjuction with door/readers access.
  8. Below the Mercury controller, add the 'Aperio Hub' subcontroller, which will appear below the 'on-board'
  9. After the Mercury controller has come online in UnityIS, the software will automatically display all the locks that are connected to the hub under the 'Aperio Hub' subcontroller
