Azure Controller OSDP Device Support Overview
Azure controllers (IC2/IC4) support up to 16 OSDP devices, which include OSDP Readers, RI2M modules, IO168, and IO21 devices.
IC2 OSDP Reader Support
A single IC2 controller can support the following OSDP reader configurations:
Reader In Configuration:
- 2 OSDP readers and up to 14 RI2Ms (28 OSDP readers total) for a combined maximum of 30 OSDP readers.
Reader In/Out Configuration:
- 4 OSDP readers and up to 12 RI2Ms (24 OSDP readers total) for a combined maximum of 28 OSDP readers.
IC4 OSDP Reader Support
A single IC4 controller can support the following OSDP reader configurations:
Reader In Configuration:
- 4 OSDP readers and up to 12 RI2Ms (24 OSDP readers total) for a combined maximum of 28 OSDP readers.
Reader In/Out Configuration:
- 8 OSDP readers and up to 8 RI2Ms (16 OSDP readers total) for a combined maximum of 24 OSDP readers.
Important Note
- Connecting IO168 and IO21 devices to controllers will reduce the total number of supported OSDP devices.
Examples of OSDP Reader Configurations
IC2 Configurations:
- Example 1: 2 OSDP readers (Reader In Configuration).
- Example 2: 4 OSDP readers (Reader In/Out Configuration).
- Example 5: 2 OSDP readers (Reader In Configuration) and 10 RI2Ms, totaling 22 OSDP readers.
- Example 6: 4 OSDP readers (Reader In/Out Configuration) and 8 RI2Ms, totaling 20 OSDP readers.
IC4 Configurations:
- Example 3: 4 OSDP readers (Reader In Configuration).
- Example 4: 8 OSDP readers (Reader In/Out Configuration).
- Example 7: 4 OSDP readers (Reader In Configuration) and 6 RI2Ms, totaling 16 OSDP readers.
- Example 8: 8 OSDP readers (Reader In/Out Configuration) and 4 RI2Ms, totaling 16 OSDP readers.
This summary highlights the flexible configurations of Azure controllers to accommodate various access control needs.
